I'm Not the Only One Missing From Supermodel Extra
Late last week, Jasmine Lennard, co-presenter of "Make Me a Supermodel Extra," was fired by the production company. The reason? Jazzy Jasmine referred to Rachel Hunter, the main judge of the main "Make Me a Supermodel" show, as "Rachel Munter." For those of you outside the UK, "munter" is British slang for an ugly woman. Apparently, there has been a long running feud between them, ever since Rachel kicked Jasmine off the show, last year, when Jasmine was a contestant. When she was a contestant, Jasmine is reported to have called Rachel, "spotty, finished, and fat." Jasmine went on to say, "I suggest she throws out the truckload of makeup she uses and hires a personal trainer." The production company, TigerAspect, was aware of the hostilities between Lennard and Hunter, and even put a clause in Lennard's contract stipulating no derogatory comments about any of the "Supermodel" panel who eliminated her when she was a contestant, last year. It seems an innocent enough comment and was certainly good television. A spokesman for TigerAspect claims they had no choice but to fire her. Of course they had a choice, they just bottled it.
Jasmine was a draw for the "Supermodel: Extra" show. I attended the first four episodes and one of the Chefs, Anthony, from work, watched the show, just to see me. He was so captivated by Jasmine, that he started watching it regularly. In fact, it was Anthony who alerted me to Jasmine's firing, as I had stopped watching the "Extra" show, after my own falling out with the production staff, as I have reported in "Making Supermodels Without Me," in this blog, on 22nd October. Since Anthony gave me the heads up, I have watched a bit of "Supermodel: Extra." It seemed very flat without Jazzy Jasmine. The producers have missed the boat on this one. A little rivalry makes good TV. If Rachel Munter, 37 and Rod Stewart's ex, can't take the jibes of 21 year old Jasmine, then Rachel shouldn't be in there. I am recommending boycotting both "Make Me a Supermodel: Extra," on Five Life, and the main, "Make Me a Supermodel" show, on Channel Five, in defense of the lovely Jasmine. Furthermore. everyone should refer to Rachel as "Rachel Munter," from now on.
"Make Me a Supermodel" is a weak knock-off of "America's Next Top Model," with Tyra Banks. Rachel Munter is no Tyra Banks. If Rachel can't take the competition, here in Britain, she can always retreat back to New Zealand. Jasmine is an ex-lover of reality show biggie, Simon Cowell. I don't know if Anthony wants Simon's sloppy seconds. Jasmine, honey, Anthony and I think you're great. You're welcome to tell your side of the story, here. Get in touch anytime.
